He was a specialist refrigeration engineer and at the time he registered as an architect with the Institute of South African Architects (1928). By 1930-1931 he was living in Johannesburg but retained his membership of the Natal Provincial Institute of Architects. ISAA 1928; mem American Soc mech eng/refrig eng.
