He came to the South African Republic in 1894, served in three armies, spoke six languages fluently and practised in Johannesburg. He worked in partnership with JA COPE-CHRISTIE in Johannesburg around 1905-1906 (cf MAY & CHRISTIE). He died in Los Angeles, 22 August 1940.
