In collaboration, VS REES-POOLE and WB BARBOURE were placed in competitions for the lay-out of sites, in 1910 they were awarded first premium for the layout of Church Square, Pretoria and in 1919 they were placed fifth in the layout for Milner Park for the University of the Witwatersrand.
