DipArch (Rand, 1930), DipQS (Pret), ISAA, TPIA.
Born in Green Point, Cape Town, Cape Colony, son of John Martin Slade (1872-1932) and Edith Goldsbury nee Bobbitt (1877-1958) (FS).
Attended the School of Architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand from which he graduated with a Diploma in Architecture in April 1930. From 1925 to 1933 he worked for STUCKE & HARRISON in Johannesburg. He joined the City Engineer's Department in Johannesburg in 1933 and was there in 1935 when he was elected an Associate member of the RIBA.
In the ISAA yearbooks of 1959 and 1969 he is listed as retired, of address 'Chamira', 22 Shipston Lane, Victoria, Johannesburg, Transvaal.
He appears to have married Joyce Kennedy Till (c.1904-1937) on 1936 01 04 (FS).
