Architect According to J WATERSON (FRIBA nom papers 1906) he and CR SNELL entered into partnership in 1892 although in Waterson's entry in the South African who's who (1908) the date of the partnership was given as 1895. The partnership appears to have ended in about 1898. Van der Waal (1987:87, 88) gives CR Snell alone as the architect of the Castle Brewery building in Johannesburg but Waterson (FRIBA nom papers 1906) states that they carried out the building in partnership.
