Born in Sydney, Australia where his father Philip Francis Adams had been the Surveyor General of New South Wales. Burnet Adams came to South Africa about 1896, settling in Klerksdorp, Transvaal. He opened practice with one Mr TWIDDY in Klerksdorp (cf ADAMS & TWIDDY). He married Julia Mary Wyatt at St George's Cathedral, Cape Town in c1899. They had two daughters. He was Surveyor General of the Orange Free State from 1906 to 1915. His home address at his time of death was 79 King Edward Rd, Bloemfontein.
