An architect who practised in Pietermaritzburg from 1928, MEANWELL was in partnership with ES CORNELIUS from about 1931 (cf CORNELIUS and MEANWELL). It appears that CORNELIUS worked in Durban and MEANWELL in Pietermaritzburg. He was on active service during the Second World War. In 1959 he is recorded as being of Pietermaritzburg. He entered into partnership with BAT ANDERSSON (cf MEANWELL and ANDERSSON) in about 1960, thereafter MEANWELL, ANDERSSON and JACKSON. References ISAA. 1959.
