Recorded in 1959 as a salaried member of the TPIA in the employ of PHILIP NEL en VENNOTE of address 705 Tsolas Building, Andries Street, Pretoria, Transvaal.

By 1969 he had established his own practice styled DAAN KESTING en VENNOTE (later VENNOOTSKAP DAAN KESTING) of address 701 Homes Trust building, Pretorius Street, Pretoria, Transvaal.

Was a recipient of the Medal of Honour for Architecture by the SA Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns in 2004.
