COLLINS, John Barrow

Architect

BArch (CT, 1936), ARIBA (1938), ISAA, CPIA.

Born in Beaufort West, Cape Province, son of William John Barrow (1881-1936) and Maria Cornelia nee Hofmeyr (1883-1960) (FS). Studied architecture at the University of Cape Town, qualifying in 1936. By 1936 he had worked in the offices of LOUW & LOUW for three years and was resident in Stellenbosch in 1937. By around 1939 he was working in Cape Town. By 1959 he is recorded as a practitioner on his own account of address United Building, Stellenbosch, Cape Province where he is again recorded in 1969.

He married Joan Nelia Wicht in Stellenbosch on 1940 09 24 (FS).
