'AA GLASSMAN came out of KLING and TROPE's office. He acquired, too, valuable experience in Helmut STAUCH's Pretoria practice, as well as WAYBURNE and WAYBURNE in central Johannesburg, but he retained some emotional association with KLING and TROPE well into the 60s and beyond. At WAYBURNs he met Rusty BERNSTEIN and when Rusty was arrested for underground Congress activities, GLASSMAN secretly took over BERNSTEIN's projects. He worked for months, if not a year or more, handing over fees to Hilda Bernstein to help sustain her family. It is impossible to get full details from so modest and dedicated a personality as Arnold GLASSMAN' (Chipkin 2008:115).

'Glassman's busy practice over four decades produced low-rise apartment blocks, neighbourhood shops and houses - delivering literally hundreds of residential units' [in Johannesburg] [Chipkin 2008:104 (side caption)].In 1959 his address was 1st Floor Investment Building, 97 Commissioner Street, Johannesburg. In 1969 he was of address 507 Permanent Building, 75 Commissioner Street, Johannesburg.
