Menu Home Upfront Now Up Books Towns Structures People Firms Lexicon INNES, John Born: 1912 06 07 Architect SACA: Reg No: 1530 Year registered: 1953 DipArch (Edinburgh) John Innes was born on 7 June 1912 at 4 Drumdryan Street, Edinburgh, the son of John Innes, police constable, and his wife Annie Underwood. Innes immigrated to South Africa where he was registered in 1953. He was a member of the Orange Free State Institute as well as the Transvaal Institute of Architects. In 1960 Innes was working in Pretoria for CORRIGALL CRICKMAY & PARTNERS but had become a partner in the mid-1960s with Arthur Leslie Rutland EVEREST and Glynn PRICE-HUGHES as EVEREST INNES & PRICE-HUGHES which became EVEREST & INNES by 1970. He was still practising in this partnership in 1972. He is not listed in the RIBA directory for 1979. For more information on his earlier life visit the Dictionary of Scottish Architects.
