DRURY, Harold Acton

Born: fl. 1907
Died: 1955

Architect

Currently little is known of Drury. In 1907 he was recorded as co-winner of the Student Prize for a design competition for 'A triple arched entrance to a Public Park near Cape Town' (SAAE&S Jnl Apr 1907:113) and began work as an architect in Port Elizabeth. By 1928 when he registered with the Institute of South African Architects, he was working in Cape Town, employed in the City Engineer's department in Wynberg and resident at St David's in St David's Rd in Newlands. From 1947 Drury appears to have been in private practice, resigning (seems to be usual on retirement) from the ISAA in September 1955.
