In the early 1950s he collaborated with Ugo TOMASELLI on the Spheris Centre Kensington, 'low-key, almost anonymous architecture' ... ''on the simplicity and directness of the Modern movement'' (Chipkin 193:240).
In 1959 and still in 1969 he was working for BERNARD JANKS and PARTNERS at 835 Maritime House, Loveday Street, (Box 4398), Johannesburg. Here he was 'a senior man responsible for clear, immaculate working drawings and design in a modern vernacular idiom until in the 1960s and 1970s he discovered a talent for Tudorbethan [sic] apartment blocks for Sandton's new genteel classes (Chipokin 1993:249)
