AMICE, Borough Engineer. 'Was born at Vizianagram, India, but received his education at King's College School, London. He was subsequently articled to Mr Baldwin Latham, of Westminster, the famous sanitary expert and en¬gineer, with whom he remained for fourteen years, and then left him to accept an appointment in Warwickshire. While with Mr Baldwin Latham he was connected with many important works for drainage, sewerage, and water-supply. In 1900 he came out to Cape Colony, and joined the Public Works Department as resident engineer. In 1903 he was transferred to Port Elizabeth, and in the latter part of 1904 proceeded to Ladysmith to take up the position of Borough Engineer. He holds many excellent testimonials as to his energy and ability.'
