Was born in Newport, South Wales in Britain. It is not yet certain when he came to South Africa but by 1907 he was working in Durban in the Borough Engineer's Office. He probably received his training in Britain. He remained in the Borough Engineer's Office until 1921 when he left to practise on his own account, and was elected a Licentiate member of the RIBA in 1925. His practice in Durban was varied and moderately extensive. He died in Durban, living latterly at 33 Bremersyde Road in Durban.
