GROVÉ, Andreas Henricus

Born: 1830 12 22
Died: 1861 11 04

Architect/Contractor

According to Wellington Heritage the Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk, Wellington, Western Cape was drawn [designed?] by A GROVÉ.

Probably the Andreas Henricus (or 'Andries') Grové (born 1830 12 22, died 1861 11 04) who was listed as a "builder and architect" in the 1853 edition of the Cape of Good Hope Almanac and Annual Register. He was evidently the eldest son of Petrus (or 'Pieter') Johannes Grové. The 1856 edition of the almanac lists Andreas Henricus, Pieter/Petrus as both an architect and a builder, and Hendrik Grové (an ornamental plasterer) all at the same address in Rose Street, Cape Town.
