George Lockwood Hall was the son of the architect Joseph Lockwood HALL and trained for a time in his father's office, in about 1926 before briefly entering the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT in Pretoria. He assisted his father with the drawings for the Pretoria City Hall. After his father's death, he took over the practice. In 1959 his address was 35, Bourke Trust Buildings, 177, Andries Street, Pretoria.
