Hodge studied an architecture in South Africa gaining his diploma in architecture from the University of the Witwatersrand in March 1936. He registered with the Institute of South African Architects in 1939. In 1959 he was of address 511 Volkskas Building, 76 Market Street Johannesburg in the offices of Manfred HERMER. While the year of his his death is recorded as 1968 he remains listed in the 1969 ISAA register as of the same address, the practice now being MANFRED HERMER and PARTNERS.
