Born in Cape Town daughter of Richard John Barry (1876–1967) and Johanna Henrietta Harold (1872–1962) (Family Search). Entered the School of Architecture at the University of Cape Town in 1929 and as a student worked in the offices of WJ DELBRIDGE (1931), WALGATE & ELSWORTH (Jan-Feb 1932), J PERRY (March to September 1933) and again with Walgate & Elsworth (Feb-Jun 1936). She participated in the Students' Overseas Tour (Dec 1930-Mar 1931). In February 1936 she had won the Architect, Builders & Engineers Prize, Cape Town. She qualified with distinction from the University of Cape Town in December 1936. In 1937 she was elected an Associate member of the RIBA and stated in her papers that she 'wished to amplify her education in England.' She married Colin Gould King (1911-??) in 1952. This is all that is currently known about this architect.
