KLUTE, AL

Born: fl. 1882

Architect

A German-born and trained civil engineer and architect who arrived in Bloemfontein in 1888, Klute was responsible for a number of Dutch Reformed Church buildings. According to Kesting (1978:807), the Church at Rouxville dates from 1882, which might mean that Klute was in the Orange Free State before 1888.

(Schoeman 1982:52; Kesting 1978:807)
