Was recorded working as an architect in Bloemfontein between about 1875 and 1878. In 1899 he was listed working as an architect in East London where he was still listed in 1904 resident in Northleigh. Schoeman (1980:64) notes that Langford was 'an able and experienced architect' and Roodt (1987:104) states: 'this self styled architect and builder made a brief but remarkable foray into the building world at a time when he had Richard Wocke to contend with.' Nothing is known about Langford after 1904.
