The partnership between W LECK, F EMLEY and GAH DICKSON in Johannesburg from about 1906. Following Leck's sudden death, the partnership between Emley and Dickson continued under the same style until, it seems, Dickson's death in 1918. Emley commented on Dickson's pursuit of glamour at the expense of architecture in his obituary of Dickson (Building Mar 1918:152); he had known Dickson since the latter's arrival in Pretoria before the Anglo Boer-War. Only one work, the second YMCA Building in Bree St (1912), has so far been ascribed to this partnership. In 1908 the partners entered, unsuccessfully, for both the Pretoria railway station competition and the Pretoria post office competition.
