Comprised a single span steel girder of 50m manufactured by the Union Steel Works of Dormund, Germany. It was blown up by the NZASM blasting experts who had previously served with the Corps of Engineers of the Netherlands army, in the Great Retreat in February to September of 1900, but by July of that year repaired by the ROYAL ENGINEERS. It has been replaced with contemporary concrete structure.
