Department of Education School (Originally, so-called ''Malay'')

A straight-forward, rhythmical, double-storied building which displays a bold pattern of white painted reinforced concrete, panels of yellow brickwork and sun-shaded windows, and a black painted deep gutter fascia which emphasises the horizontality 'Such a refreshing and original building is a good introduction to modern architecture for the children who attend the school' (Greig, 1971: 228).
