Click to view large map Coordinates: | This was the winter retreat of the Everard family from Bonnefoi near Carolina. The site consists of a rectangular building - probably living area - surrounded by rondavels. About 75 metres to the north is the remains of a wagon house, the entrances since walled in, and next to it a large walled in area which was probably for the oxen and other animals. Slightly to the north of this are remains of more stone walls which appear to be much older, probably also enclosures for animals. All truncated references not fully cited below are those of Joanna Walker's original text and cited in full in the 'Bibliography' entry of the Lexicon. |
