Die NG kerkraad van Zeerust het gevra Vermooten moet ’n plan opstel vir die herstel van hul ou kerk. Hy het geraam die koste sou £28 000 wees, maar eindelik besluit die kerkraad om hom te vra om ’n plan vir ’n nuwe kerk op te trek. Die hoeksteen is op 12 Oktober 1957 gelê. (Morné van Rooyen) The NG church council at Zeerust asked Vermooten to draw up plans for the restoration of their old church. He estimated the cost would be £28 000, but in the end the church council decided to ask him to design a new church. The cornerstone was laid on 12 October 1957.
