Die NG kerk Quaggapoort, Pretoria, waarvan die hoeksteen op 27 April 1946 gelê is, was een van Vermooten se eerste kerkontwerpe. Die bouaannemer was F.P. van Heerden. Vermooten is op 8 Julie 1950 in dié kerk getroud. (Morné van Rooyen, 2015) The NG Kerk Quaggapoort, Pretoria, of which the corner stone was laid on 27 April 1946, was one of Vermooten's first church designs. The contractor was F.P. van Heerden. Vermooten was married in this church on 8 July 1950. Update: Beeld newspaper reported on 24 August 2024 that the church buildings and terrain were currently for sale for R6,25 million. This was due to the big drop in congregants in recent years. This church did not have a full-time minister for the past 14 years, and its Sunday School closed 10 years ago. The trend in South Africa was for such redundant church buildings to be sold to other denominations.
