A constructed random rubble marker bearing a Jock of the Bushveld roundel and an interpretative plaque inscribed: This is the place where Sir Percy Fitzpatrick's dog, Jock of the Bushveld was born in May 1885. The grave nearby is that of a young German, Adolf Solke, [aged 23 years] who accompanied a group of transport riders in the eighteen-eighties. He accidentally shot himself in the leg with a double-barrelled shotgun, dying subsequently of his wound despite all efforts to save his life.
