Click to view mapCoordinates: 34°00'44.65" S 18°27'31.68" E Alt: 55m | | Mike Louw in Bakker et al 2014:58 gives the date of construction as 1889, additions were made in 1892 with the foundation stone being laid by Lady de Villiers (Walker 2012:48). It was converted into a General Hospital in 1917 with extensions in 1931 (Currie Block) and again in 1961 (Sandes Block), 1972 and 2013 (Friends of Victoria Hospital).
During the Anglo-Boer War it served as a military hospital.
