The Town Hall was designed in 1893 by Robert WALKER, the (Ladysmith survey 1993) says he worked with SINGLETON. A tower was added in 1894 by STREET-WILSON and FYFE. In 1902 restoration work was carried out by William LUCAS after war damage. In 1917 interesting internal alterations were carried out by COOK & RALSTON. The hall was rebuilt at the rear and a pleasant entrance atrium took its place. (Kearney 1973:54)
