Old Groenberg School

This school was built in the 1860s. CP Hoogenhout, who played an important part in the first phase of the Afrikaans movement, was a teacher there from 3 August 1874 until the beginning of the twentieth century, and much of his important work was done there. Hoogenhout was born in Amsterdam in 1843 and died in Wellington in 1922.
