| From a copy of a drawing titled: Addition to Flats for Mrs L. F Wolff cor Buffalo & Hill Streets, Lot 7, Block M, Ward 2, East London. Drawing was prepared by: I. ARONOWITZ A.R.I.B.A, M.I.A. The drawing describes a 1950's style three storey addition to an existing Deco-Moderne double storey block of flats on the same property. Each of the three floors was provided with two one-bedroom flats, the whole structure under a low pitched hipped roof. The street elevation was largely of blue face-brick used to 'frame' the windows to first and second floors - these two windows were separated vertically by a rectangular plaster panel. All truncated references not fully cited below are those of Joanna Walker's original text and cited in full in the 'Bibliography' entry of the Lexicon. |
