Click to view map Coordinates: | This building was chosen as an exhibit at the Pretoria University School of Architecture 50 year Alumni exhibition held at the Pretoria Art Gallery in 1993. The Volkskas bank was a project Karl Jooste received via Gawie FAGAN while he was Volkskas's appointed architect. The building proved to be such a controversial design that sparked public outrage with some scathing newspaper articles. Due to this Karl never received another bank project. Volkskas sold the building 15 years later and it was completely gutted of all brise-soleil and the windows filled in. It is unrecognisable now with only the stair still in place.
