Walter Nicol McKINLAY and Everard WHITE were one of two entries shortlisted in a competition to design the National Women's Monument (Vrouemonument) in Bloemfontein in 1913. The commission was given to Messrs. Anton VAN WOUW and Frans SOFF. McKINLAY & WHITE received £50 of the £100 divided between the two firms.
