Born in Brockley, Kent, England, United Kingdom, youngest child and son of Thomas Agutter (1838–??) and Amelia Ann nee Huxford (1838–??) (FS). He was educated in London but was working in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa by 1906. He was in partnership with MB PRICE from 1906 (cf. AGUTTER and PRICE) until 1909 when he left for London. A year later he returned to South Africa, settling in Pretoria. He died two years later. The architect WH PRIESTLEY was witness to his will and acted as executor of Agutter's estate after the latter's early death in the Sunnyside Nursing Home, Pretoria.
