Born in Queenstown, son of Harry Thomas Marston. Educated at Queen College, Queenstown. Studied architecture at University of Cape Town School of Architecture. In 1951 he married Rosemary Anne Copeland by whom he had two sons and a daughter. He was Assistant Architect in STEGMANN, ORPEN and PORTER (1947), Charles MERRIFIELD (1949-1950), FARROW, STOCKS and FARROW (1950-1951) and George G ALBERT (1952-1958). He became Senior Partner in MARSTON and HIRST of which he is recorded as Senior Partner in 1963. In 1969 he was a partner in the firm MARSTON, HIRST, KINGSLEY-HALL & HAMILTON.
Was the President of the East London Local Committee of the Cape Province Institute of The Institute of South African Architects (now BKIA) from 1957 to 1959. List of projects With photographs
