Educated at Ladies College, Durban, 1904-1911
Trained at the Durban Art School (1916-1918) and Royal College of Art, London (1919-1921). 1922: On her return to South Africa established her own studio in a rented shed at 32 Berea Rd, Durban, assisted by Marjorie Johnstone. Co-founder of the Ceramic Studio. Moved to Olifantsfontein with Marjorie Johnstone in December 1925. At first undertook throwing and decorating at the Studio, later managed the business and bookkeeping. At the time when WW2 broke out she was suffering ill health and in the early 1940s spent nine months in Durban recuperating. She retired in 1942 and returned to Natal to nurse her mother.
