Born 1898 in Pietermaritzburg, the second child of Willoughby Laidman Methley of “Newstead”, Balgowan, KZN and his wife Elizabeth Symons (nee Rowe).
Worked at the Ceramic Studio/Linnware: March 1926 - 1952
Trained at the Durban School of Art (1916-1918) and the Royal College of Art, London (1919-1921). Taught briefly at the Durban School of Art after returning to South Africa. Co- founder of the Ceramic Studio. She was manager of Linnware 1942 -1952, after Con-Rand purchased the business.
Exhibitions:

She painted tiles for the interior of R Cullinan's house Sunlawns.
