| | GALLIERS, William EltonBorn: 1876 02 02 Died: 1953 01 12Architect |
NIA 1901
Galliers was born in Durban. Nothing is currently known of his training. From about 1898 he was working in partnership with A McGregor RITCHIE, the partnership continuing until around 1906 (cf RITCHIE & GALLIERS). Galliers continued to work in Durban on his own account until 1913 when he entered into partnership with WCE ROBARTS (cf ROBARTS & GALLIERS). Since Robarts retired the same year to farm sugar cane, the partnership would appear to have been short indeed. Galliers was a founder member of the Natal Institute of Architects in 1901. No death certificate has yet been found for him in Natal.
