KwaZulu-Natal Institute for Architecture

The Natal Institute of Architects, later Natal Provincial Institute of Architects, was started in 1901, of the founding members were WE ROBARTS, the Institute's first president, Arthur FYFE, second president in 1903 and William Elton GALLIERS.
With the statutory creation of the Institute of South African Architects (ISAA) as a regulatory body and the powers given through the Architects' and Quantity Surveyors' Act No 18 0f 1927 it was effectively assimilated and given statutory powers for the registration and management of the affairs of the architects of the Natal Province.
Now called the KwaZulu-Natal Institute for Architecture it is a regional branch of the South African Institute of Architects.
