PETERS (1998:179-180; 191 (ill)) cites this as the example of STAUCH's 'double lean-to experiments'. The slope with a south face while light was to the north necessitated response to both directions, resulting in the configuration of the section. The house was internationally acclaimed and published in both the English and German press, while featuring more than once locally, accoladed as a cover for SA Architectural record of that year.
