Architect |
The partnership between HT JONES & FMR DRAIBY commenced in Cape Town in 1903 and appears to have lasted until about 1928. Draiby ran the partners' Johannesburg office from 1905. It is not yet known for how long Draiby was in Johannesburg but he seems to have returned to Cape Town around 1915 (?). There is a long gap in their work between 1905 and 1923; by early 1920s the firm was listed in Cape Town only. (Aron 1972; Picton-Seymour 1977; SAA&B May 1905:158; SAAE&S Jnl Oct 1905:5) All truncated references not fully cited in 'References' are those of Joanna Walker's original text and cited in full in the 'Bibliography' entry of the Lexicon.
