THE dignity in its modern style, with its height of 110 (33.5 m) feet above pavement level, gives "Anchor Mansions" an elegance all its own. The building faces south in Kerk Street, Johannesburg, midway between Joubert and Rissik Streets.

"Anchor Mansions" consists of shops on the ground floor. showrooms on the first floor, and flats above consisting of bachelor and two-roomed apartments, each flat being provided with a kitchen and bathroom. Each flat is treated individually as regards the decorative scheme, and the latest electrical appliances are installed. Careful planning and attention to detail characterises these flats, each flat being well provided with built-in cupboards, and all bed recesses are of spacious dimensions, with special attention to light and ventilation. All floors are in wood laid in narrow widths and there is a hot water service day and night. In keeping with tenants' requirements. the flats are provided with two of the latest fast passenger lifts, typical of the architects' discerning choice of all items in this building.
