Hollander Corps

The Hollander Corps arose from the readiness of many non-naturalised and naturalised Netherlanders living in the Transvaal Republic to take the field with the Boers in the South African War, and the desire of their former compatriots in the Transvaal to form their own distinct military unit. As a serving unit the First Hollander Corps lost its identity after the Battle of Elandslaagte. Groups of Hollanders later clubbed together in the Orange Free State and called themselves the Second Hollander Corps (1900-1902).
