Nicholas Clarke is a practising professional architect and heritage practitioner. He holds a Masters degree in Environmental Design in Architecture from the University of Cambridge. As once full-time member staff (2007-2013) at the University of Pretoria he lectured in the history of architecture, with focus on South Africa. He is conducting doctoral research at the Delft University of Technology, where he also teaches on a part-time basis. He is actively involved in heritage management and documentation in South Africa as well as in the World Heritage arena.
At a ceremony held at the Voortrekker Monument on 7 November 2014 he received a PIA award for the book Eclectic ZA Wilhelmiens : A shared Dutch built heritage in South Africa. List of projects With photographs With notes
